Applied Weighing’s service team recently completed the successful commissioning and calibration of several new hopper weighing systems; utilising the Applied Weighing Compact range of load cells and Target 260 load cell amplifiers.
These amplifiers now provide site operators with a useful visual display of the contents weight for each hopper, whilst also communicating with an Allen Bradley PLC via Ethernet IP interface cards.
In addition to the transfer of weight data, the inclusion of Ethernet cards also enables the client to benefit from the transmission of a variety of process commands between the local Target 260 amplifiers and central PLC system over the Ethernet IP network.
When used in conjunction with an AW190 intelligent junction box, the Ethernet interface enables the transmission of load cell fault diagnostics for immediate fault finding and reduced downtime.
The new hoppers support the client’s inventory management and have expanded their production capacity to meet growing demand, whilst the integration of Applied Weighing’s load cells and instrumentation has enhanced the overall efficiency of these systems.
